Salesforce Inc. is hiring again, after laying off about 10% of its staff earlier this year, according to a new report.

Bloomberg News reported late Thursday that Salesforce
CRM,
-0.01%
is hiring 3,300 people across its sales, engineering and cloud departments.

In an interview with Bloomberg at Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference, Chief Executive Marc Benioff said the company needs to hire “thousands” of people in order to grow the company and “continue to achieve great margins.”

Benioff told Bloomberg that many of the new hires would be “boomerangs,” or former Salesforce employees who had left for other companies.

Earlier this year, San Francisco-based Salesforce laid off about 10% of its workforce, or roughly 8,000 jobs, after Benioff said the company “hired too many people” during the pandemic years.

Salesforce shares are up 65% year to date, compared to the S&P 500’s

17% gain.
