Deal activity in the registered investment advisor space dipped slightly last year but remained strong amid a tough macro environment for mergers and acquisitions, according to a new report from the investment bank Echelon Partners.
Echelon tallied 321 RIA M&A deals announced last year, a 5.6% decrease that nonetheless highlighted the resilience of the industry and its enduring appeal to the private-equity firms that have been funding much of the deal activity in the sector.
