A very different kind of touchdown occurred during the Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns game on Sunday, when a baby girl was born at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Browns wide receiver and Indianapolis native David Bell said in an interview with Indiana-based television station WLFI that the baby is his niece.

“Her whole idea was to try to have the baby before the game but, you know it’s all in God’s timing,” Bell told WLFI of his niece’s mother. “Now I have a new niece, so hopefully I get to see her when I come back to the city.”

A spokesperson for the stadium thanked its partners at Indiana University Health for helping with the birth and extended its congratulations and warm wishes to the baby’s family.

Bell’s mother, Kareem Butler, told WLFI that the baby was delivered at around 1:20 p.m., just 20 minutes after kickoff.

“She was due the 26th, but her mom went into labor as we were crossing the street,” Butler said. “So, when they got here, they went to the first aid.”
