The advisor industry is facing a significant demographic challenge, with new entrants into the field barely offsetting exits in 2022, according to a new study from Cerulli Associates.
That’s an ominous sign for an industry that’s poised to see about 109,000 advisors—more than 37% of the workforce—retire in the next decade, according to Cerulli, which is calling on firms to revisit their mentoring programs to help develop the next generation of producers.
