Last year was rough sledding for stock and bond investors as a 60/40 portfolio fell 17%. However, this year the S&P 500 is up 21% and the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index is modestly higher.
Mary Ann Bartels, chief investment strategist at Sanctuary Wealth, sees this year’s gains as a sign of things to come. She believes that stocks are in a secular bull market and expects them to rise to new highs in 2024.
