Blackstone’s private credit fund, BCRED, now has three years of performance history, which investors and advisors can use to assess the $50.7 billion fund. Over a period that saw interest rates shift significantly, BCRED delivered distributions of 10.5% annually and a total return of 10.1%, the company said in a recent letter to shareholders. That total return beat other fixed-income categories. That said, there are reasons advisors should tread carefully with this asset class, including its relative lack of liquidity compared with publicly traded investments.
