Hoda Kotb Gets Emotional After Jason Segel’s Stunningly Heartfelt Compliment

Leave it to Jason Segel to ensure Hoda Kotb is aware of her impressive legacy as a television personality.

“I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone,” the actor said. “I just want you to know, these interviews have been some of the best of my whole career, so I’m really grateful to know you.”

A moment later, Kotb appeared to be welling up with tears just as she and Segel leaned in for a hug.

Segel was alluding to Kotb’s recently announced plans to exit “Today” in 2025, after nearly two decades with the NBC morning show. She has co-anchored the first two hours of the show since 2018 and co-hosted its fourth hour since September 2007, when she became a part of the “Today” team.

Kotb, who turned 60 in August, has cited her milestone birthday and wanting to spend more time with her daughters as the impetus for making a professional change, saying she “wanted this decade to be different.”

“I looked at my time like a pie. I was like, this is how much time I get, and now what am I going to do with it and how am I going to carve it up? And I wanted it to be filled with more of them,” the mother of two told People magazine last week.
