The European Commission presented a migration pact implementation plan in June, leaving EU member states until the end of the year to present their national plans.
Member states have until June 2026 to implement the first EU migration pact, aimed at harmonising border procedures and systems for handling irregular migrants arriving on EU territory.
How will it be implemented by EU member states? Will implementation respect human rights and what political problems are associated with the legislation?
Radio Schuman discussed the most sensitive aspects of the new EU migration policy with Federica Toscano, senior policy advisor at Save the Children Europe.
