Truist Financial has named Scott Stengel senior executive vice president and chief legal officer, plucking the executive from Ally Financial.
Truist on Wednesday said Stengel, who joins the Charlotte, N.C., financial-services company on Dec. 26, succeeds Ellen Fitzsimmons, who previously announced plans to retire at the end of the year.
Ally said Stengel, who has been general counsel of the Detroit financial-services company since 2016, is leaving effective Dec. 22.
Ally said Isvara Wilson, current deputy general counsel, will step in as acting general counsel.
